Can not play flacs

Hi,
Firstly, thanks again for MusicCabinet. I have been using it again today, and I am truly impressed.
However I seem to have made some elementary error in my setup: I am on OSX, and using Safari as a web player.
In the Subsonic/transcode directory, I have: flac 1.2.1 and LAME 64bits version 3.99.5 There were conflicting instructions out there, but I copied the binaries, rather than linking to the originals.
However, whenever I try to play any flac, I get the track listed as "now playing" in last fm, the players "loading" bar changes color to indicate the song has loaded / buffered, but the play time stays at zero, and there is no sound. This seems to happen whether or not I have set a maximum bitrate for the stream in settings/players or not.
There is no mention of anything in the log except the [INFO] line "PlaylistInputStream equanimity listening to whatever.flac" until I pick a new song. Apologies for the basic question. I am sure it is just incorrect configuration on my part.
