I am wondering about this too. But I am afraid Hakko has stopped develloping this great project.

Hi - did people jump ship
? It seems to have slowed down everywhere since the new licencing procedure was implemented.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark... because I hope hakko hasn't abandoned us...
4.8 didn't seem to bring anything that should effect musiccabinet... so maybe he's just taking some time off?

I'm guessing (hoping!) he's just busy for the summer...

Hi all,
I sent Hakko a PM a few days ago. He hasn't responded yet, but I doubt that he has abandoned us. In any case I have no intention of letting music cabinet die without a fight. It's too great a program to lose.
For the same reason, I also think we should start working on a contingency strategy. We need to organize more developers in the case that hakko can no longer work on this program, as well as to help him out in general.
If anyone here has either the commitment OR the ability to try to help keep this development alive i'd really appreciate a role call. I'm not asking for any commitment right now, but it would be great to have a few people step up in this thread who would we could turn to if we really needed to, even if it's just for advice.
I'm starting to dig into MC myself with the hopes of improving the playlist function. I'm investigating a lot of the ideas proposed in other MC threads. PM me if you've suggestions or advice.
Thanks!

Although I too agree that losing Hakko constitutes a major loss to this community, it does seem that he no longer is participating. I sent him a PM as well back on July 22 and it hasn't been sent out from my outbox, which means he hasn't even logged in since then. His profile indicates that he hasn't logged in since May 21, 2013.
I appreciated his application development, but he was also a valuable contributor to the forum with his selfless assistance to other users frequently helping them sort out any issues they were having, both with Music Cabinet and with Subsonic. None of his last posts give any indication as to why he just disappeared, and I certainly hope that all is well with him and that he returns.

I am legitimately concerned about hakko's health.. he simply vanished from every online community he was on, without any lead up...

I also hope all is well with hakko. I enjoyed his vision and miss his helpful responses. I wish I had the skills to offer help with future updates but it was a push for me just to get this running on OSX.
Based on hakko's post on other forums I have my suspicions regarding his absence.
Music Cabinet is amazingly stable as is but it would be great to see the code move forward.

Yeah, sending up some good vibes to the cosmos for Hakko (and subscribing to this thread, as I'm intrigued by thelin's initiative to crowdsource further development).

I don't want to give out too much personal information, but I will let everyone know that I managed to get ahold of Hakko about a month ago at the end of July. He let me know that he was traveling and has been pulled away from his open source work. At that point in time, he let me know that his current trip wouldn't be over for another month (so, the end of this month), but he didn't say that he would immediately be back at it. Hopefully he'll return, but I wish him all the best in his endeavors and thank him for what he's done.
