Love the app, but I cannot use it at work due to Group Policy setting the proxy settings for IE. I can change the proxy settings in IE, but GP reverts it after 15 minutes. If SubWiji suported manual proxy settings it would be perfect.

That is strange as it should be getting the proxy settings from ie even when it's a group policy.
I do have it added to the list to add manual proxy settings, I will have a go tomorrow to see if I can add it.

Yeah, our proxy doesn't seem to work with a number of applications, I've had to resort to locally running Cntlm and pointing applications at it.

That would be great, let me know if you'd like me to test it.

Thanks

Hi,
Can you please give this a test, there is a Manual Proxy tab in the Settings dialog.
The version the change is in is 1.2.1.208.

Thanks

That works perfectly, thank you very much (especially for the quick turnaround). My only suggestions are purely cosmetic; to spread the textboxes out vertically (makes it clearer which field is which) and to obscure the password.

Thanks again

Great stuff,
Oh yes I will mask the password and also spread them out

Thanks for testing

Great looking application.. exactly what I've been waiting for. Unfortunately, I have some pretty regular stability issues.

While running, it seems to hover around 25% CPU usage and 60mb memory. I've found that it will eventually stop playing and completely hang. I've had it happen right off the bat, or as deep as the 10th song into a playlist, but it happens every time. CPU will drop to 0 usage and memory usage will slowly trickle upwards... I've seen it rise as high as 256mb.

Any thoughts?

Hi,
I know that sometimes it can hang and run slow, there are a lot of factors and this is why I have a lot of questions for you...

What version of subsonic are you using?
What version of subwiji are you using?
What is the specification of you server machine?
What is the specification of your client machine?
What are the upload and download speeds of the server and clients?
Have you tried setting the subwiji settings which determine the resources subwiji uses?
Do you have a "my music" folder on the client, and does subwiji have a folder in it?
Are you using the transcoder setting which is displayed in my forums signature?

I know there are lots of questions but hopefully we can make subwiji work well for you :-)

What version of subsonic are you using?
- 4.6

What version of subwiji are you using?
- The version that pushed yesterday.

What is the specification of you server machine?
- Win7 x64

What is the specification of your client machine?
- Win7 x64

What are the upload and download speeds of the server and clients?
- Server side 94 Mbps down / 65 Mpbs up
- Client side 32 Mbps down / 32 Mbps up

Have you tried setting the subwiji settings which determine the resources subwiji uses?
- Not really sure what is meant by this.

Do you have a "my music" folder on the client, and does subwiji have a folder in it?
- Yes, no.

Are you using the transcoder setting which is displayed in my forums signature?
- Yes

Hi,
Please check out my responses below...

This setting will (if set to Low) put less load on your PC when running SubWiji (CPU%), the setting is shown in the screeshot below...

krantul wrote:Do you have a "my music" folder on the client, and does subwiji have a folder in it?
- Yes, no.

This is very interesting as if you go to the setting panel (shown below) there should be options relating to the cover art cache, it may be that because SubWiji cannot access the My Music folder you are having issues.
Please click "View Cache", this should show a folder with a path similar to C:\Users\paulodell\Music\SubWiji\ with a "Covers" folder inside.
If this folder is not there then SubWiji does not have permission to create the folder or Cache the cover art, this may be causing you issues.
One way to check this is to UNTICK the "Cache Cover Art" in the settings, with this running it will not try to access the My Music folder. Please try this and see if it works.

Can you be more specific as in the CPU, GPU and RAM specs?

Thanks

I do most of my listening in preview mode, would it be possible to add a now playing list somewhere so that after I start listening to an album I can navigate the songs in it without re searching for it

Surely this is just a case of adding that album to your playlist?
Personally I'm not a fan of the preview mode, it's another level of confusion.

- Actually, I did find the folder and it does appear to be functioning as intended.

- The server is an Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB of RAM, Nvidia 460gtx
- The client is an Athlon 64 dual core, 3 GB of RAM, ATI Radeon HD 2400.

Thanks for trying stuff, how does it perform now? Also can you screenshot your transcoder setting for me?
Out of interest do you run it over the internet or locally?
Do you use a Playlist a lot of the time or Preview? How many items do you have in your playlist?
Can you also find me the exact version you have of SubWiji from the Help About page?
Have you considered using 4.7beta3 it is much much faster?
Have you got the latest .NET (SubWiji runs using .Net framework) installed?

The problem I have is replicating this issue, if you could video it or describe step by step what buttons etc you are pressing I may be able to find the issue?

Sorry for the long delay in response. I was away for a quite a while and didn't have time to dig into it further. It seems that the issue no longer occurs. Nothing has really changed apart from whatever updates to the application came along, but something in there seems to have corrected my problem.

Thanks for the assistance. Hoping to see the folder browser interface soon!
