Infos about Madsonic 4.8 Beta 2

Backup/Upgrade/Install

Beta 2 is very experimental, so it's really a good idea to make a Full Backup of Madsonic before you start.
If you have troubles, start from scratch with new database.

Artist Hub/Artist Cover

In Beta 2 the CoverArtController are modifyed, so the Artist Cover is saved like the Album Cover in the Artist folder as
example artist.png, you can use the Icon in the Artist Hub in the bottom of the Picture to change the Cover with the
Google Search Image function. Madsonic knows to handle if it's a artist or a album cover.

Artist Mediatype detection

If you save a picture with the filename artist in the artist folders, so Madsonic detects this folder as artist MediaType.

This is important to the MediaType detection, because following rules are set:

DIRECTORY
Folder without mediafiles, cover or artist picture or with File-Tag (DIR.TAG)

MULTI-ARTIST
Folder with subfolders (with mediafiles) or with File-Tag (MULTI.TAG)

SINGLE-ARTIST
Folder without mediafiles and subfolders (with mediafiles) or artist picture (ARTIST.TAG)

ALBUM
Folder with mediafiles or cover picture or with File-Tag (ALBUM.TAG)

ALBUMSET
Folder with subfolders (with mediafiles) and cover picture and foldername contains (Disk, Part, CD, ... ) or with File-Tag (SET.TAG)

What is generally the difference between a build # and an "SE" build #? Is the SE version "newer" than the non-SE version?

SE (special edition) is for computers with java 6 installed. If you have java 7, don't use them !
