Excellent! I just installed the 3100 build.

Increasing the zoom above 100% no longer makes the sliders disappear (thank you), but the frame adjustment feature becomes disabled. Trying to adjust the lower screen, it just turns the main window blue. Attempts to adjust the left column do nothing. I played around with this in IE and Chrome and the frame resizing is inconsistent once you zoom above 100%.

Other than that this build looks really good. i did a manual scan and it was really fast.

Now if we could actually find a working lyrics connection ...

Great job!

The quality of this mod and the speed at which you are incorporating stable features is truly impressive. I was also able to just drop in the WAR version of this build without any difficulties. EXCEPTIONAL WORK!!

I will continue to support this effort going forward with an occasional donation and the offer of guest access to my site for anyone who would like to preview a working version.

Anyone who would like to preview a working version of this mod is welcome to send me a PM for a demo link to my site.

I think the .rpm installer is broken in new build. I tried to install newest build in my old laptop (Fedora16, fresh installation) The installation process wen´t normally and the was no error at all. In /var/subsonic there is oly one folder, Transcode, and one text file Subsonic.log nothing else.

Next i installed windows version of the newest mod to my other Win XP machine. Everything runs smooth and working well.
I would like to use this exellent mod in my primary Fedora 16 server but problems with installer I can´t.
Can you check the .rpm package.

Thanks for you work!

Many Features are coming

*) similar artists
*) Genre Browser
*) HTML5 compliant
*) Extended LastFM API
*) Extended REST API
*) Extended MashupMod Android Client

hi, i test the rpm package on Fedora 17 and it works fine. try to remove other subsonic installations before and clean all folders

\var\subsonic
\usr\share\subsonic

This installguide is for Ubuntu but it works also for Fedora --> viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9187&start=150#p44294

Scan your subsonic Log files for errors to find the problem!

I've recently noticed a minor issue. Sometimes the left column "bounces" slightly. It happens under a few different circumstances that aren't always easy to reproduce consistently, but it can be rproduced by opening in Chrome, set zoom to 110%, then drag the left slider to the bottom, move mouse to the main window.

try to replace installed ffmpeg with orginial http://subsonic.svn.sourceforge.net/vie ... transcode/

best regards

1st off, Thanks for all the great hard work, I know it takes a lot of your own personal time.
OK, I tried your idea of replacing the ffmpeg to the original version, no change.
I did notice if I log in as a non-admin user and load a song or playlist into the web player, it'll just sit there on those "certain" songs, until I click on the progress bar. Once I click on the progress bar, say 5 seconds into the song, it'll play normally. If I log in on the same PC with an Admin user, the song starts and plays normally. Both users set to no limit palyback, or even setting both to a limited playback.
However, I did notice something different about the player when it played for the non-admin (Manually clicking progress bar) compared to the way it plays for the admin users (Starting normally). When the admin user loads and start a song, you can see the progress bar darken left to right as the buffer loads the song from the server (normal thing), but when I click on the progress bar for those songs that won't start automatically on the non-admin users, it doesn't show that buffer loading, just starts playing. Like the pre-cache buffer isn't working at all.
I've installed your latest beta build (3100), but it didn't make any difference either. Is there something else I can try?
This is on a windows 7 ultimate PC (Clean install), with your beta version as the only subsonic installed. I never loaded the original 4.7 b3 before hand.
I know you are getting hundreds of "help me" requests from several different people, and I really don't want to burden anyone with more work!, but I would really love to resolve this. It's driving me crazy!! (Thanks for listening)

I don't think your issue is with this modded build as i have the same version installed on Win 2K8R2 which is the same code base OS as Win 7. My site is running with only a few minor issues and is transcoding everything I throw at it.

Did you have any similar issues with other versions of SS? have you tested the files that are causing problems on a different version?

What kind of files are they? ffmpeg does have some issues with some VBR file types and may require tweaking to get working properly.

If you want me to test a particular file that demonstrates the problem, just send me a PM and I'll be happy to give it a go for you.

I also use different ffmpeg releases that seem to work better with some file types and would be happy to share those with you.

These files came from my standard Subsonic server where everything plays fine. The problem is only effecting the non-admin users of my modded subsonic.
The files are all MP3's. I have files that work with the same formatting as files that don't, varying from 320kbps CBR, 256 kbps VBR, etc.
I can find a file that doesn't play, and file a file of similar length, size, exact bitrate, etc, that does.
I'd love to send you some examples, but the files are rather large.

Just another update, I created a new, non-admin user, set it up as the other users, and it played the songs OK.
The only difference between to 2, is the original users were "exported" and "Imported" from my other database.
I tried deleting a user, and re-creating it, but that didn't work. Then I tried to delete the user, clean the database, then recreate, that didn't work either.
The only thing I have let to do, is to delete everything, re-install, and re-create all my users again. ARGGGHHH!.

I was able to upgrade the last build over the previous one, but prior to that I only got good results by doing a clean install. That may indeed be the problem. Assuming you don't have hundreds of users it shouldn't ne too painful.

I've done this so many times it only takes me about 5 mins. to do a clean install now.

Good luck.

Technical Preview: Subsonic Mashup Mod 4.7

Postby prussel4 » Sun Sep 02, 2012 12:23 pm

Figured it out. It seems that the accounts that where having trouble playing certain files had nothing to do with subsonic, ffmpeg, file type, or file security. It was the version of Adobe Flash Player. I found that the users, as well as one of my PC's had a previous versions of flash. After I updated to the latest version, it seems the problem went away. At least so far.

I just wanted to inform that when used on android device Ice cream sandwich the REST version of player when playing a video from subsonic app, is broken in sense the player is squeezed and buttons with seekbar are overlapping themselves, making it very hard to tap properly fullscreen button. I tried to change videoPlayer.jsp from standard b3 build but it did not help

Anyway great job!! keep it up :)
