Bug report: Madsonic 4.8b1 Access permissions
Posted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 10:25 pm
Just wanted to pass this along, to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue, and if it can be addressed/resolved in a future release...
I initially had Madsonic 3220 set up with a single media folder, and when I tried to scan media folders, it would scan, but I couldn't see anything. With MadEvil's help, we (he) figured out that I needed to "reset" the access permissions. I did that, and all was good.
Fast forward to today, I added two additional media folders, but couldn't see the contents, even after a rescan.
I checked the access permissions, and saw columns with each of the new folders (as well as the initial one), but there were only check-boxes under the initial folder, not the two new ones. I reset the access permissions again, and the checkboxes are now appearing under all of the columns.
I'm not sure exactly what's involved in a "reset", but my assumption is that any permissions I had previously set for certain groups would now default to the same as the "ALL" group having access to all folders. In other words, after resetting, I would then have to manually check or uncheck boxes again.
