Hi There.

I have subsonic version 4.7 3105 and have installed Java 6.1.X which is the only version debian lets me install. I am unclear about the installation procedure for Madsonic. I downloaded the 4.7 Mod and installed it on my terminal window on the remote server but nothing happens when i browse to http://myserver:4040/login.view? Error is Page cannot be displayed.

I went ahead and removed the MadsonicMod and was able to get into my Subsonic Server afterwards.

MY question is how can i make this work? I noted some instructions you need Java 7 but my distro can't use it.

Is this the problem? Is there a way around this?

Thanks!

Ok so i've been digging around and found a script in these forums. It runs fine and does what it suppose to do. When it gets to the point where i need a deb file to install it gives me an error message "File.Deb is not a Debian Form Archive" after it downloads. Same thing with the war file.

I need help if anyone is available to provide me some.

Im running Debian 6.06.

Thanks.

for explanation:

Madsonic since version 4.7 is compiled with Java 1.7

if you want to use it with Java 1.6 you need the SE (Special Build) Version, this version is compiled with 1.6
but at the moment there is no madsonic SE deb installation package so you must replace the war file manually.

After my winter holiday i will make new builds, so you can install it from scratch with the deb package.

best regards

OK. I got it to work by doing it manually. Thanks For your help. I have another question if you don't mind answering it. How exactly do you load the subtitles? I have a video called name1.avi and the .srt named someothername.srt is in the same folder.

Thanks

Thank You For Your Help. This was a problem on my end. Renamed .srt file to match exactly what the .avi file was set to and now i can see subtitles.
