Weird bug, two songs played simultaneously

Postby KBanause » Tue Nov 26, 2013 10:48 am

This morning I got a very strange bug(?) in DSub. Even though one song was still playing, it started to play the next song. So I was listening to both songs simultaneously. Pressing stop only stopped the playback of the one that was really playing, the other was still playing. The only way to stop playback of that file was to force close DSub. Just to "Exit" the app via the menu option was not successful (the song was still played).

I'm using version 4.2.2 of DSub and I was listening to my music using a bluetooth headset (maybe this information is needed).

Has anybody experienced this behaviour too?

This happens to me about once a month. Seems to happen when controlling via the widget. I'll get a log next time it happens.

Yeah, the only time I've had it happen was when you added a song using play next, and I already fixed that bug. If you have any idea of steps to reproduce it or a logcat I can try to track down however it's happening again.

I was able to reproduce the issue when an intent was sent from headphones reconnecting. Is there a bug with the application when being loaded from a suspended state? It seemed like there was an orphaned player object, because while one song was playing I was able to skip tracks in the playlist with the other.

I'm not sure what you mean by reconnecting. Do you mean that with nothing playing at all and the app had been inactive for a while, you plugged in your headphones and it started playing two songs? That doesn't seem right since it shouldn't have started playing at all because of headphones being plugged in.

I disconnected my Bluetooth headset, which caused the application to stop playing, worked a 10 hour shift, then got back into my car. When I reconnected it, the music resumed, and when I hit next it played both the current song (I.E. it didn't stop) and the next one simultaneously.

I think I see a timing issue when restoring the app's playlist, and if you press play at the wrong time it tries to play two songs at the same time. I should have it fixed in the release going out momentarily. Please keep letting me know of any other cases you guys have this happening. That is a ridiculously annoying bug that I want to make sure no one else has to deal with.
