Permanent cache, how downloads are handled

I have a couple questions all relating to the Cache.

1. I've got a bunch of albums lined up to be cached. Right away, the drop down status says Currently: <Title song>.mp3, and the number of total tracks it's working on is decreasing slowly. Then it might get stuck and says "Downloading 9 songs" but "Current: none", and when I click on it, it takes me to DSub Downloading, which says None found. Is there a way to ... tickle the DSub downloader to continue downloading? I saw in the settings you can specify Network Timeout etc. but I still have the same problem.

2. Cache, vs Permanent Cache. Is this like the Pin feature in Subsonic official app? Where to Pin something is to Permanent Cache it, while regular Cacheing a song means it might be deleted if you reach your upper threshhold for storage of Cache songs?

1) Can you send me a error log after that happens? I've never seen that happen, so I'm not sure what is happening.

Hey,

New to Subsonic and DSub, having given up on Google Play Music to store my personal library because of it's buggy Chromecast Support, and poor uploading mechanisms. I also use Plex, but am frustrated by it's limited capabilities when it comes to music streaming.

All seems good on initial set-up, but I just wanted to check if the Music Cache size limit in DSub settings applies to Permanently Cached tracks/albums or is only for the temporary cache of streamed tracks?

I don't actually have an answer for you, although it would be easy enough to just test it.

I did want to say that over the past 3(?) years I've also come to the same package of software that you have: Plex and subsonic. Seems that Plex is trying to be something that it simply is not. Not to day subsonic and dsub couldn't learn something from that interface they've branched and developed. It's pretty, not ideal for music as we've seen, but a little eye candy goes a long way with my overall enjoyment in using an app.

I also put this modded version of subsonic on the server called music cabinet . It seems to be a little smarter in sorting my music out.

From messing around a bit more with the app I came across the 'About' dialogue which lists available cache/disk space and would appear to indicate that the Perm cached files count towards the limit.
