Bluetooth car stereo: Fast forward/rewind not working

Hi all

Are there any solutions to car stereo 'fast forward' and Rewind buttons not working while a song is playing? The buttons on my Alpine stereo can skip tracks backwards and forwards, but not FF/REW within a song. I have the latest Dsub on a Samsung S5 with Android 6.0.1

I have checked off Persistent and Heads Up Notifications and tried leaving either on and both on, but no change. I have also reverted back to DSub 531, but no change.

The only time FF/RW work for me is on audio books.
