Can you just send me a log of the crash? I just tried that and it doesn't seem to be reproducible for me.

As for the throwing everything into the Drawer suggestion, I'm not really sure if I like that approach. Doing that would mean a ton of things in the drawer, since you would also need to add the Home tab (don't know what you are supposed to call these now) specific menu options like About, Send Log, Change Log in there as well. Looking at Gmail having scroll bar's inside of the drawer layout doesn't seem to work too well. When you have to use the scrollbar half the time it gets confused on whether you are trying to scroll down or close the drawer which is really annoying. Also, replacing the select server in the action bar is something I see a lot of apps doing, so wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility, but also introduces it's own problem. Right now the back stack is put in the action bar, and you can't have both. It would be confusing to have it be the sever selection one moment, then switch to being the back stack as you start going down levels. I also tried increasing the font/spacing a bit so it takes up close to 3/4 of the available space now.

I hadn't thought about the other menu options, but I guess it would probably make sense to put those under the settings tab if you were to take the suggestion. I understand where you're coming from though, not wanting to put too much in the drawer section. I would agree that you definitely wouldn't want to introduce scrolling in the drawer view if you can avoid it.

As far as the server button; you're definitely right about that as well. you don't want to lose that button in certain views. It would have to be like the shuffle button; available in both the library, playlist, and now playing views.

It just seemed to me that the home tab is sort of a legacy grouping of things organized the way Sindre had it in his app. Since you've really transformed this app to be significantly different it seemed maybe it was time to revisit that organization scheme. Maybe there's a better way to organize and maybe there isn't. Thanks for the consideration anyway. I love the app and I love how active of a developer you are!

daneren I sent the crash log through the android prompt a few hours ago. I don't know if that was enough or if there was a different way of sending it.

Ah I can look and see if it got sent to my Dev console. In the home tab there is button to gather and send logs to my email.

Daneren, when I try to add tracks through the beta, Dsub regularly crashes.
I'm trying over wifi right now.
Either dsub just let me sit there waiting or it crashes..
I sent a report like last time (restarting dsub after unresponsiveness is equally difficult and requires a restart of my phone)

I also got issues when connecting to bluetooth. Don't know if its the rom or dsub.
I'll try to send a report next time (usually happens when I just left by car)

Here is a new Beta for 4.3.0. Major new feature is that you can now mark both Playlists and Podcasts as 'Keep Synced' in order for them to automatically download changes in background. The settings to control this are under Settings -> Cache/Network. Playlists by default download everything, while Podcasts only download new episodes. When both playlists and podcasts are marked synced, they have a pin icon to the right.

Among other misc changes that are listed in the internal change log, I also fixed the new scrollbar on the lockscreen for Kitkat devices. Hopefully a happy consequence of this is that bluetooth devices should play nicer now. By finally having a client for RemoteControlClient that I could actually play with directly, I was able to make it behave the way it is supposed to. I'm curious if this does end up helping anyone.

Unresolved Issues for KitKat (so basically just people with Nexus devices for now):
Fast scrolling on artists listings. As a temp workaround I made it so that the fast scrollbar is just always there.
Random crashes when re-entering the app. Still can't figure this one out, but it affects older versions to so don't feel like updating will hurt anything for this.

I added some features like separate IP for WiFi that have a decent change of breaking things (though I think I have already caught them from using it myself). Testing appreciated!

WiFi IP seems to be working for me. I put in a bogus address for my "normal" server address and the correct IP for WiFi and I was able to stream while on my local network.

Just posted up another Beta to the play store. This one is for the new browsing by tags feature. I have also created a Google+ community at https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities ... 5339901427, and recommend people use it instead of the Google Group that I previously setup. I will still monitor both though.

i'm using the 4.4 beta2, and noticed two issues when enabling browse by tags:

album art doesn't display (a few worked for some reason maybe they were embedded in tags but most of mine are folder.jpg).
chronological order isn't preserved.

Where doesn't the cover art display for you? Does it display fine on the album view, but not when playing? Vice versa? Neither?
What does chronological order mean...

I see what you mean by chronological order now. The albums aren't sorted by year anymore. But I still don't see any albums where the cover art doesn't load. Can you email or pm me a temp username/password for your server so I can look at the problem directly?

Edit: Nm, if the albums not being sorted was what you were talking about, it works fine if you have the custom sort checked in the settings. If the server doesn't appear to sort by album in that mode for some reason.

'Show album' is broken for me on 4.4 Beta 3. It states "No media found' and the dropdown shows a random album (but doesn't work). Log doesn't show any errors or failures. I went back to 4.3.7 and it works fine.

Now that's a strange one. It appears to be only broken for non-tag browsing, which means I probably broke something when fixing it to work while browsing by tags. I will fix it, thank you.
