Ok clear, but I thought the app maybe can see the starred items in the starred tab and combine them with the specific songs on the albums they come from. So I thought there is no further specific information needed from the server, because the starred songs are always known by the app.

No, the starred info is sent along with the rest of the song info in every single call to the server. It's how it works on the standard Subsonic server, and probably on Madsonic as well (though I don't have one to verify). I would have to separately keep track of which songs are starred, worry about whether it is a "valid" dataset when using it, etc in order to use the starred tabs data directly. It's not impossible, but it is a bit of a ridiculous amount of work (both in code, and in client processing) for a work around for a dead mod. As MusicCabinet continues to not be developed I imagine the gap between what it does and what DSub can do with the standard Subsonic server will only continue to grow.

I agree. Today I have switched from musiccabinet to madsonic. Now the starred songs are allready starred in dsub. Thanks.

Any thoughts on a more robust equalizer? I've long felt the EQ in the Subsonic clients has been weak. I use Poweramp for local playback and the EQ options really make a big difference.

I thought you could use a third party eq? That makes more sense to me than building something in.

I have to agree with mr_nobody. I have tried, but it just really isn't somehting easy to do. I will never be able to make something as good as what you can find from 3d party solutions who actually know what they are doing.

Fair enough. Anyone have an equalizer app that works well with DSub? I've tried a few but they either do nothing or not much.

Hey there,

In HOLO theme, under NOW PLAYING, is it possible to have bright colored text for the artist name and album title in the album cover view and same for the list view; and also add the album title in list view? As it stands now, HOLO has a dark blue background and the text color is light blue and thus hard to see at times. Please see the screenshots to see what I mean. Screenshot 1 (The band, The Abs) shows the song list view (only shows the artist, not the album) and screenshot 2 (album view) shows the artist and album title, where it is blue on blue. Does this make sense?

Is there a way to add "recently added" to offline mode?

hey Daneren,

I have 2 minor requests. Would like feedback from others to see if they also encounter this.

- Is it possible to move the ">" on the right side of tracks (for example in the "now playing" list) a bit more to the left ? It kind of overlaps with the scrollbar. So sometimes you want to press ">" and the tracklist jumps away.

- Would you consider adding an option "play all selected next" ?
Here's my scenario: I use large playlists and sometimes I want to add an album - or a few tracks of an album.
The only way to achieve this is by manually adding each track one by one (clicking the ">", meaning the tracklist sometimes jumps away as well :-) ).
Using the ">" track-by-track is a shame, because D-Sub already has checkboxes to quickly achieve certain actions. Adding tracks next in line to play isn't one of those actions unfortunatly.

Thanks for your time and thanks for making the best Android app in the world. Not sucking up - it's a fact. So glad I bought your app back then.

Yes the first one I just keep forgetting to do but yet I will do that. The second one I can also add. Man that drop down is getting long though.

i've noticed this as well, and i've been meaning to come here with a potential solution. It would be great to put a place in the settings to customize that drop down. basically a checklist of options that you want to view in the dropdown. then you can add options as you see fit, but people can keep the functional dropdown slim if they like. there are plenty of options in there that i never use, but i can see how useful they'd be to others.

just a thought.

The other thing i thought would be useful would be to allow pressing the album art when browsing to perform a default action from that dropdown menu (pressing album art plays last or plays now for example). which action to perform could also be set in the settings, basically a radio button option of the same list.

Hows about a long press the back button to exit the app from anywhere?
