In the old versions when I would click on Random and then click on an album, I could click on the top drop down and have the ability to go the album artist. Would it be possible to make the artist name clickable inside an album. Or adding that breadcrumb back in to the navigation dropdown?

I believe this was removed because of a request by a single user here? I am another person that actually misses this. The perils of actually listening to your users...

Lol yeah it's impossible to win with everyone. Ususally the most vocal users win ;)

I added the ability to select Show Artist from the album's context menus in the version that will be going out later this week. Will that be an acceptable solution?

That solution will work perfect for me. It seems like a more logical place to put the show artist option on the album menu than on the drop down anyway. Thanks!

Yeah, I think that makes a good solution. Having it in the breadcrumb trail never really made a lot of sense anyways.

Alright, well it is in the beta I have at viewtopic.php?f=16&t=12764&start=15#p60900 already. I haven't been getting any beta feedback, so I assume it should be fine and will probably be fairly close to what will go out in a couple of days.

First, thanks for the high quality artwork :D

Second, a few suggestions about how the app looks on tablets. See following pics

In the first pic, you can see a gap between the bottom of the artwork and the RC/EQ/etc bar. It looks kind of awkward, and it would probably help to either move it flush with the bottom of the artwork, or overlay it like it's done on phones.
In the second pic, it seems like there's way too much dead space between the artwork and the song title, etc. Maybe make the text and buttons little bigger? (if you can)

Again, thanks for the continuing updates.

Yes there are definitely still some improvements to be made on the tablet side. I have already done a bunch with making buttons bigger and the album art's larger, but I haven't really touched the now playing screen yet. That should be my next project for improvement. I will try to get it in the next release.

Screen Off/On

Postby llin » Thu Feb 27, 2014 7:09 am

The screen off/on toggle in the Now Playing screen has always confused me. A checkbox would be a more positive confirmation of the setting.

Cached Songs

Postby rubbersoul » Sun Mar 02, 2014 5:06 am

I was thinking that it would be nice to be able to access the cached music directly from the sidebar thingy beneath the library somewhere rather than having to go, home > offline mode > library. This could have the added advantage of enabling real-time scrobbling of cached music if network connectivity is available. I switch between my cached and network library a lot so being able to quickly get to each from the sidebar would be awesome.

Out of curiosity, why do you need to switch between offline mode a lot? The library view shows what is downloaded and what is not, and even with no network activity you should be able to browse previously browsed folders just fine. The only caveat is that every once in a while when I change what fields a song has, it wipes out all of the old folder caches so you have to re-browse them.

I work in some scientific labs that block out most em waves to prevent disturbing experiments. I imagine others may do so to save on mobile data sometimes and to get around places like subways. My library is pretty big so the cached music gets pretty lost in there. It's a lot nicer browsing in offline mode.

Would a hide non-cached option from the library menu work? I don't really want to add another option to the pull out menu if it can be avoided since it is already getting full pretty fast.

Show downloaded history or permanent cached music only tab or option in pull out menu.

that would also be better than how it is now imo. I don't have any of the optional pullout menu options currently which is why i suggested putting it there. it's bare for me! haha. I can understand where you're coming from though.

whatever you think makes sense. I think there must be some way to more harmoniously access local and networked content than the current method of switching online/offline mode; exactly how it should be done is debatable.
