Please send me a log after it happens since I couldn't reproduce.

I am more than happy to test the next release for the status bar fix :)

I also noticed that swiping to remove from the play queue (a super awesome feature) only works in one direction. I feel like it should either work the same in both directions, OR a more complex version would be separate actions per swipe direction (one side removes it, the other moves it to play next in the play queue or something like that. Similar to the Gmail app, where one swipe archives and the other deletes, with that friendly icon and color cue that's revealed from under the label you're swiping.

That second thing sounds hard, though. And not fully thought through.

Also, i don't know if you would prefer that i open issues in github instead of just listing bugs/suggestions here, or if you prefer to just catch up on stuff in the forums. if you have a preference, please let us know!thanks again for such a super epic app.

Yeah I will be updating the dark theme to blue then.

I really don't like the double swipe actions on some Google apps. If you aren't using it every day it is a pita to remember which direction is the correct one. I can make it work with swiping from either direction, I just felt that swiping left was super standard for a remove action. If someone actually cares about it is extremely add to easy and I don't see any downside to having it swipable in either direction.

I generally prefer just posting here and I will add it to Github if I feel like I won't do it right away (I also keep a Keep checklist of short-term changes I want to keep track of) AND I intend on doing it.

frnx wrote:By the way, another thing I noticed is that DSub still shows an old artist name with Unicode issues. I fixed it in my library, then selected "cleanup database" in Subsonic, which no longer shows the old name, but DSub appears to remember both versions. The artist had no cached songs and was only displayed when not in offline mode.

Are you browsing by tags or by folders (setting under Servers -> Server)?

PS: I haven't had much time to work on this the last few days so I'm hoping to have another beta by the end of the week with a bunch of complaints addressed.

I am updating with a bunch of changes from peoples responses. There are still a couple of bugs I am aware of that I need to fix for the final release, but I'm not planning on doing another Beta unless people come up with a lot of bugs.

just downloaded a bit ago, so far it's working splendidly! the dark colorschemes look great, queuing podcasts is working, it's all-around very nice.

this is more of a (series of) request(s) than a bug, regarding podcast bookmarking and general off-line-ness:
a) ability to create bookmarks while offline, similar to starring offline, and sync them when returning to online mode
b) more regular auto-bookmarking during podcasts/long songs (every minute or so is reasonable)
c) the option to automatically switch to offline mode when not on wifi

i know there's that last part that is kinda already there with the "no streaming unless on wifi", i'm thinking this would replace it, since not-streaming just brings along some other issues (like, generating a random playlist just doesn't work if the next song is not cached on the phone). with offline bookmark support added, virtually all features that one would need while offline would still work, no data would be transferred, shuffled playlists wouldn't try to add songs that aren't available, no network timeouts would happen, etc. I think it would be a cleaner implementation for people who are trying to watch their data consumption.

Hey! Great job on the new version. I really like the colors and Material Design changes. I should have gotten here quicker to say so.

Here's some things I noticed:

1. The color scheme on the Android notification panel makes it so I can't see the control buttons. If I look close enough, it looks like white symbols on a cream background. The controls do work, though.
2. I see you added some of the "Play now" and "Play last" back in since the first Beta. However, when I select an artist, I get the screen showing all the albums from that artist. In the upper right dropdown, I would like to see a "play last" selection there. I know I can hit the play icon and it replaces the queue with all the artist's albums.
3. From that same artist's albums screen, I would like to see the "Play Next", and "Play Last" in the context menu for each album. I wouldn't mind a "play now" there that replaces the current queue with the album.

Unfortunately, I've updated my server to Madsonic 6.0 Beta, which comes with a new REST API that makes it incompatible with DSUB currently. If Marty made his last beta able to support both the 5.x and 6.x servers, I would trust it isn't hard to make Dsub recognize the new server version without breaking current Madsonic and Subsonic servers.

New REST API docs: http://beta.madsonic.org/pages/api.jsp

EDIT: Ok, never mind about numbers 2 and 3...Now that I read the post introducing the beta, I see that I can long press the albums to select the ones I want. Nice for the play button, so I assume adding the "Play Next" and "Play Last" only in the upper right context menu for the artist would work.

The color scheme is a bug specific to Android 5.0 and is fixed for the next release. I'm just trying to get one last bug fixed before I do a final beta.

1) On the 'Now Playing' screen, when I long press a song and move it up the list where it has to scroll, it has unexpected results. The song disappears and duplicates the song listed at the top of the scrolling. If I leave the screen and come back the song reappears. Moving a song down the list where it has to scroll appears to be fine.

2) I'd like to request the 'details dialog' to have the song title back. It's the only way to see the entire song name.

1) I will look at it
2) That was just oversight. I will put it back.

Cover art and now playing. Text is sometimes on top of cover art

Here's a 500x500 cover on my phone

On cover images that aren't square the overlap gets even worse.

Same cover on my tablet

It should be fixed in the next update. Someone pointed that out to me earlier in the week.

Current Beta (5.0.1) stopped working with Madsonic beta 6.0.7450. My guess is something about the new API emulation code broke it.

Edit: Sorry. Too vague.

When I go to the server setup screen and test the config, I get a message that says wrong username or password. I have tried my LDAP user and the admin user. I have tried turning off the emulator in the Madsonic settings, but it apparently doesn't change anything.

Dropping back to 6.0.7200 allowed the user test to work and it says "connection OK".

I can't tell if it's the beta or the app in general, but I'm dealing with this problem on every update: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=15862
