Nothing seems to change when I check it.

Yes I would like to know what the "per folder" means too. Thanks.

LOL, I thought I was just stupid. Yeah, I don't understand that at all either.

It limits the album lists to only the folder you have selected (if you have all folders selected it won't do anything)

I recently upgraded to lollipop and was looking forward to being able to choose where to save the cache but it still doesn't work.

Not sure if it's an issue where dsub isn't using a google android api or not.

Cheers

That is a limitation that has nothing to do with DSub. The only thing DSub does is it checks if the location you select is writable or not and doesn't change it if it is not. Upgrading to Lolipop does not remove that limitation.

Right at the end of that article it includes an update:

With the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop, new APIs have been added that allow an app to request permission from users to access folders on external storage.

Does this not mean that dsub could use this api and offer the user the option to cache to a micro SD card?

I already tried that and it does not do what DSub needs it to do. That API is to pick from any document provider, including cloud providers such as Dropbox and Google Drive which is wrong for what should be obvious reasons (it is supposed to be local storage). Second, it doesn't even seem to work on all devices. For example on my Galaxy S6 no options even appear, while on my Nexus 5 it showed Internal Storage as an option. I can't change DSub to use that since it doesn't seem to even work on some devices, and where it does work it offers invalid choices that users can and WILL pick. If all you want to do is store to the SD card you already can do that, it just has to be in a specific location detailed in this post I made when Kitkat first started rolling out: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14148#p61817

Hello,

Since updating to version 4.9.6 on the 23rd, I am having trouble with Bluetooth media controls. They work fine via Android Wear, but from my car's stereo, any time I use the "next" or "previous" commands, it will get stuck continuously going to the next or previous song until I can hit next or previous on my phone. Pause doesn't cause the cycle to stop. Trying anything else from my car's stereo will not stop it as hitting the opposite of the next/previous buttons will only switch the direction of continuously skipping to another song.

Can you send me a log after getting the continual loop (Home tab -> Send Log)

I'm having several issues with the app on my Galaxy S6:
  • If I click on the widget (4x1) to open the app, the audio that the app is currently playing gets paused.
  • If I rotate my device while on the Now Playing screen, it skips to the next track.
  • When I use play now for a track, the audio plays for a split second and then pauses (even if the track is cached).

You are the second person to report that clicking the widget paused, but I have absolutely no idea how to reproduce this issue to be honest. Pouring over the code I have no idea how it could be happening. Could you try reinstalling to see if it was just a corrupted update?

Edit: nm, I just looked it up and it was you and I never responded for some reason...sorry about that.

Are you just pressing play on a album or doing something special to start playing? I also have a S6 and it doesn't happen for me.

Yes, just pressing the play icon in the top right corner of the screen. The first song that plays does so for a split second then immediately pauses.

If it would help, I can recreate all 3 events and send you a log.
