They are already being saved locally automatically. If you go offline after looking at a playlist it will show up. I'm working on making this better but it will be some time as there are some other things I need to finish first.

I use DSub to listen to audiobooks and podcasts, so I would really like to see 30s rewind/advance buttons for those times when you miss something that was just said. Trying to navigate an audio file using the slider is pretty rough in general and doesn't provide the precision you would need to move back or forward for small increments. If you really wanted to make the feature usable, you could add advance/rewind buttons and make the increment configurable.

Re: DSub for Android Playlist Error:

Postby adriang » Mon Sep 10, 2012 4:58 pm

I'm getting the following error when selecting one of my playlists:

Error Message:
"Resource not found. Please check the server address."

Name of playlist:
What I'm Listening To Now :)

Number Of Songs In Playlist:
22

This playlist works fine when using Subsonic for Android as well as the native web application.

1) Is it only one playlist you are having trouble with?
2) Did you just start having trouble with it with this latest update or has it always been a problem?

I put it on the todo list but to be honest it's going to be fairly low on the priority list

Chat tab I would say is medium priority, but what do you mean by Now Playing? Is there anything specific you want from it different?

Slide your finger up or down the album art while your audio is playing. The program will skip forward 30 seconds or go back by 8 seconds.

Sorry, I should have specified: Showing "Now Playing" of all users- I think iSub has this feature. I have a few dozens users and really enjoy being able to see what others are listening to.

thanks again.

Ah alright. It's pretty low priority as well but a lot of when it would get done would depend on how difficult it would be to implement.

This app needs some ui changes in landscape mode when browsing songs.

(I know that this problem exists for nearly every program in landscape mode when working with lists)

At the moment I can only see 2 songs at a time when browsing which isn't very use able.

My solutions are to

change the buttons at the bottom from writing to symbols, that way pin, select all, play last etc all fit on one row and three songs at a time can be viewed.

Split the list in half vertically so that 2 songs are shown on one line, this way 4 songs are shown at the same time.

Our do a combination of both so that 6 songs are shown at the same time.

I would also like to be able to flick between the different tabs which is now very common in android apps.

Cheers

Looks promising!

2 feature requests/suggestions:

1) DLNA Support (similar to airplay on iSub)
2) Manual caching of songs (for airplane, etc. - also on iSub)

Glad to see someone has picked up android development. Keep up the good work.

Yah the entire download tab needs to be re-worked. It won't be in this upcoming update, but I will try to get it in the next one. I so rarely even have rotate on that I didn't even realize it was a problem until you said something.

1) DLNA has API support on iOS which makes it easy to implement. I'm not sure how simple it would be to do on Android but I will take a look into it.
2) I'm currently working on better caching of songs because yes right now it sucks. You basically just need to go in a add everything you want cached to the playlist.

On the primary home screen when launching dsub can you add an "offline" category so I dont have to change the server to offline mode?
