Bluetooth Metadata

Can's seem to find this issue on forums with anybody else. When I play songs, meta data only shows sometimes. When it does finally show, it doesn't update itself with whatever the next track is. Has anyone else had this problem? Other apps are fine..ie Play Music, Power Amp, Stock Music App.

Samsung Galaxy S3
AT&T SCH-1747
Jelly Bean 4.1.1

Car Audio
Sony DSXS300BTX

Did you just start having this issue after the last update?

Thanks for the reply..I've just only installed this on the 4th and haven't had a chance to test the older version long enough to tell since my app auto updated itself. Titanium backup didn't reserve my older version yet since my backups only happen once a week. If you send me the older version I can test and let you know for sure. Thanks!!

Alright, there have been a few people asking me about this in the last day so it's fair to assume it is something with the latest update. For future reference all of the builds are uploaded to: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=11549 as well.

The only thing I changed that even remotely effects the updating of the bluetooth metadata is which thread it is run from. I've changed it back to running in the main UI thread just for updating the bluetooth metadata. Try this apk out and let me know if it fixes it.

No luck on the version posted up here. I tried restore to factory defaults(fresh Jelly Bean 4.1.1) still no luck on updating of Bluetooth metadata.

Did you try one of the past builds to see if it a recent issue?

Had a day or so to test..and I tested all the releases and they all do the same thing. I can use the bluetooth controls track forward, back, and pause. Metadata shows up after I unpause the track. When the new track starts, metadata disappears and pause shows on the display even though audio is playing. Also after a receive a call, metadata shows up again.

Summary
-hit pause, then unpause, metadata shows up
-after a call completes, metadata returns
-new track, metadata shows it's "pause" when audio is clearly being played

Thanks for your help again!

I tried adding the playstate to the metadata intent as well. See if that helps.

Amazing! All data is being sent and responding very quickly. Thanks! I appreciate you work. If you have other builds and different features you want tested, I'll be glad to test them for you. Just pm me.

Ah, so that did fix it? That was more of a guess in the dark to be honest. Good to know though, it will be in the next update.

Daneren, apparently my issue is ROM-related, as none of the builds posted have re-enabled the metadata. Thanks again for your help.

Does the metadata work for other apps for you?

Actually, yours is the only app that has ever worked with my car stereo, so I have no idea.

Just curious, does anyone have elapsed time working for Bluetooth metadata or is there something I'm missing to get it working? I listen to a lot of podcasts and this feature is one I sorely miss from the iOS client.

Track metadata and AVRCP controls are working beautifully on 4.0.2 running on android 4.1.

Thanks!
