3.8.5 Hanging up

I just installed and started testing 3.8.5 and it twice has just hung at the end of a track. The first time it hung at the end of track 2, I loaded the same album after a reboot and got a similar result at the end of track 4.

I'll test again with different albums to see if it continues.

EDIT: Different album, same result. App freeze at the end of the third track.

Samsung GS3 running Wicked Sensations rom v 1.0 that has never had issues before. My other Subsonic apps do not have this problem. 3.8.3 didn't have an issue.

Can you try unchecking the gapless playback in the settings?

Edit: and do a menu -> exit before trying to play again.

Sure thing. Testing now. Will post result.

EDIT: That seems to have fixed it! I'll let you know if it resurfaces.

Thank you,

Yah I'm not sure why the Galaxy S3 is having issues with Gapless playback. And even more I'm not sure why it was working for you before I put the switch in but not after, since it wasn't working for a lot of people before as well :(

To make it even stranger, I have a friend with an S3 that will only use Dsub because of the gapless playback working on his phone using 3.8.3 with a newer rom by the same dev.

I'll be moving to an S4 or a NoteII shortly, so it probably will just be a whole new set of issues for me in a short while anyway.

Thanks for the fast reply - everything seems to be working fine for me now.

Well I am hoping that the S4 has actually fixed these weird issues. It's not just me that is having them. You can find traces of people talking about it in reference to various media players. I know there is a fix since Play Music listed it on one of their releases and people seem to agree that it did fix the issue, I just have absolutely no idea what they did. Other the past month or so I have tried literally dozens of different things and nothing I did seemed to have an effect :(

I guess for now if you are having issues with 3.8.5 and it worked before you can always revert to 3.8.3. It seems hit and miss which version works for who :?
