Hey folks,
In ONLINE mode, the color of the details button on the right side (akin to a play button arrow) is inconsistent. I have attached several screen shots showing the below 3 issues/examples. Thank you for any assistance.
1) Notice Dinosaur Jr's FARM album. The details button is WHITE/GREY, however I did cache it (not PERM cache) and the next screenshot shows the details buttons on each song as BLUE, which I thought meant CACHED. Am I wrong there?

2) Joanna Newsom's Milk-Eyed Mender has the detail button as BLUE but the songs in the next screenshot have WHITE/GREY detail buttons. I know I cached (not PERM cache) the album because I can see it when I go in offline mode.

Last example....
3) The artist is Pillowfight and the detail button is WHITE/GREY, but I PERM CACHED the album so the detail buttons on the songs are green. Green means Perm Cached, right?

Can you check if there is a difference betwen the filename and title of the song? Also, for one of the songs that is showing up as not cached, when you try to play it does it try to download again, or does it just play like normal?

For Joanna Newsom's Milk-Eyed Mender, the 2nd song (Sprout and the bean) does download again when I am ONLINE. However, in OFFLINE mode, the song was already there and now that it downloaded again there was a copy of the same song, which I have since deleted. And even though I deleted the duplicate, it did not get removed my the MY FILES folder. And, when I remove the dupe file in MY FILES, it is named "Sprout and the bean.complete.mp3". I then delete it and seconds later, a new file appears called "Sprout and the bean.partial.mp3". I then delete that file and the "complete" file" returns. I delete that file and the 'partial" file returns. All of this is happening within MY FILES folder. Very odd....
Re: the song title and file name. I have noticed that another Joanna Newsom album, HAVE ONE ON ME, the detail button is blue for the album and songs, BUT the file names all end "*.complete.mp3", where the asterisk is the song title. does that help?
I noticed Dono Jr/s FARM album and the rest of their albums on my phone also end in "*.complete.mp3". Is this normal?

You say that there were two copies of the same song. What were the two called? And then you deleted the duplicate, but you said it was still there. Where did you delete it through? If you deleted it through a file browser and it still showed as being there through the same file browser, it sounds like a file permissions issue. The .complete.mp3 thing is normal, and it probably recreated the .partial immediately because it was trying to redownload it in the app if it was still on the play queue.

the two copies were the same song, but the newer song which Dsub downloaded most recently has "completed.mp3" at the end of it. The other songs were "normal" titled file names. I saw all of this in the MY FILES app where I have directed dsub to save music files. NOW, I just deleted that dupe song in MY FILES (with "completed" in the file name) and it keeps coming back as the same file name with COMPLETE in the file name. I had initially deleted the song via dsub, but I am unable to delete it. Dsub keeps bringing the song back. I included a screenshot. It is interesting that for some reason, all of the older songs are lower case and the DUPE song (and the entire album when I look at it online) is upper case. Does that have anything to do with it? But still, why won't dsub let me delete the song and thus have it removed from the MY FILE app. Also, the DUPE is 4MB and the older version is 7MB. What the heck is going on here? Thank you for your patience....
**On a somewhat related note, if I keep DSUB ONLINE all the time and play the same songs over and over, will DSUB try to Download them each and every time or will it realize they are already downloaded and play the files from the phone's hard drive?

I ended up deleting that album as I realized I was not a big fan of it anyway. I deleted it via dsub which , in turn, removed it from the MY FILES app. But I did find it odd that even when I was in OFFLINE mode and deleted the song via dsub or MY FILES app, that it would return. How is that possible, especially if I am offline?

I have never seen this before. Had you changed the tags or the renamed the files on your server recently or something? I can't think of anything else that would have caused the files to randomly change names like that. And the reason DSub isn't letting you delete the songs properly is because it obviously doesn't think it matches the song that it is showing. In online mode it is building the list of songs based off of the server, then just trying to match them to an existing format of saved songs (which hasn't change in a long time). In offline mode it's just displaying whatever is there.

No, no name changing of files, that I recall. Sorry if you answered this already and I didn't understand at first, but in offline mode, if I delete a song via dsub, how can it reload the file in offline mode is there it doesn't have access to my server?
cheers

I guess there was a bug that didn't check the offline mode for downloads. It never came up in the past because going into offline mode automatically cleared non-downloaded songs from your queue, and from there on out you could only add songs that were already downloaded anyways. I just never took into consideration the case where you delete a song in offline mode. That part should be fixed, but I'm still not sure what is going on about the other part.
"It is interesting that for some reason, all of the older songs are lower case and the DUPE song (and the entire album when I look at it online) is upper "
This is the only thing I can think of that would be causing this. It searches for an exact filename, so TeST is not the same as test or TEST. If the filename isn't exact, then when it does the quick search for the song, it won't find it. That being said I still have no idea why it would be changing like that.

Yeah, I normally have the app in offline mode so I know what is on my phone so as not to DL more songs (due to my data cap). And I think you may have overlooked a question of mine: On a somewhat related note, if I keep DSUB ONLINE all the time and play the same songs over and over (which have already been DLed to my phone), will DSUB try to Download them each and every time or will it realize they are already downloaded and play the files from the phone's hard drive?
The only reason I would keep it online is to play the recently added files. Is there no way to create a RECENTLY ADDED option in offline mode?
Cheers on everything else.

Normally I would say they will not be downloaded every time. With this though, I have no idea whether it will or not, because I have no idea why it is trying to save the files as a different name in the first place. As long as the tags and the filenames stay the same, it should never repeat download the same songs. Hopefully whatever screwde up the names of some of the songs for you is a one time event, and won't continually cause issues.
And no, there isn't really any way to have a recently added option in offline mode.
