The beta is up on the store (as well as here, but I may or may not be diligent about posting beta's here). You can join in at

I'd be interested in testing and reporting for sure. Moto X on vzw.

That's how it should be done. Keep it consistent with Google.
Not sure how much interest you need... I am part of a couple beta tests that have fewer than 100 testers.

Alright, the beta is up on the store (as well as here, but I may or may not be diligent about posting beta's here). You can join in at
https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en#!forum/dsub-beta. Here is the testing link:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/gi ... n2005.dsub. People can posts their thoughts here. Basically this update is for two things:
1) Change from tabs to the pull out drawer that seems to be the new direction google wants apps to use.
2) Added a basic 2 pane tablet layout. Now when you click on something you can see it open up in a secondary pane instead of replacing the existing screen. I still need to tweak some stuff like make the playing buttons centered instead of just against the right edge of the screen, but it is a rough idea of what I want it to be.

So far, so good. Except I really liked being able to swipe between tabs especially because it remembered my position.

I liked the tabs a little bit more, but this
1) Seems to be the way everything is going and
2) I was reaching a point where it was extremely difficult to figure out how to proceed to add new content. This fixes that problem since adding new listings to the pull out drawer scales better then adding tabs. It was already a problem with just having 5 tabs. It would have gotten worse as I tried to add more stuff in.
I will look at how hard it would be to keep your existing position when you switch between different listings so when you switch back you are still in the same place.

Everything seems copacetic to me. I like the slide out sidebar hamburger menu type thing googles making standard myself. Maybe put the app settings and eq/rc options in the sidebar? Although it seems googles apps still have the settings button top right I guess.

I keep going back and forth on having the settings in the pull out bar. I will probably put it back in and be doing another beta tomorrow with all of the changes I have made this week

I liked the tabs more but extensibility is also important.. As is a unified android user interface.
in fact the slide menu looks very empty right now
I like sliding out the menu through the dsub button on the top left though.

Alrighty here is another beta. Lots of UI changes. See internal changelog for more details. Ignore the bookmarks tab, I haven't gotten a chance to make it actually usable yet.

I like it.
- I just miss a "back" button earlier when I was listening to music (on the notification widget), but that was also used to be the case with the old widget.
- The new Dsub icon is nice. Also the icon indicating a cached song is nice (in playlist view).
- I just encountered a crash. Reproducable like this: I go to my "starred" view in the root server view. I pick "select all" to choose all starred songs. i choose "cache songs" from the dropdown menu.
I go back to the now playing playlist. I pick show downloading to see the progess. Dsub crashes.
Notification screen still show "downloading xx songs" but it doesn't continue (so I have to force stop that)
edit: I just installed the beta over the old stable version, don't know if this matters or not.

love the newest update. new font is beautiful and i like the pull out drawer. takes a minute to get used to, but once you do it is great.
i'd agree that the drawer is a bit empty. it think it may make sense to try putting all of those home "albums" like recently played, etc. in the drawer instead of the home tab. at the moment, home seems to be a catch-all for things you don't know where else to put. it seems like you could get rid of it all together if you put the "albums" in the drawer. put the cloud/offline button in the action bar with some sort of visual cue that you are online/offline. put the server select in the ... of the action bar? maybe the server select and offline button should be merged in the action bar as one button. pressing it would give you an option between offline or one of your configured servers.
just some organizational suggestions that could simplify the interface and get the user to where they want to go quicker imo.
