Browse a UPnP Server

I use foobar2000 as my desktop media player and recently discovered there is a UPnP server plugin: http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_upnp

Basically, it allows you to serve up your music library via the UPnP protocol. The powerful feature of this setup is you have complete control over your preferred browsing methods in a configurable way on the server side. You can browse by folder, genre, album artist, year, decade, composer, music label, stars, etc. in any tree structure you desire using foobar2000's powerful titleformatting and tag support. It essentially does what subsonic does but integrated into a media player with many configuration options.

What I'm wondering is if it would be possible to add UPnP server support so that when you press the "Add Server" button in DSub you would have the option to setup either a subsonic or UPnP server. Android UPnP players exist; BubbleUPnP is the most popular, but it really is far behind DSub in aesthetics and usability. Since the latest subsonic beta now includes UPnP support, it may be the right time to consider this feature.

Thanks for your consideration!

I can definitely add it to the todo list, but I will warn you that will definitely be a long time coming. It's definitely a great idea, but would probably be a significant amount of work and I personally feel that adding features that make DSub a better Subsonic client come first and foremost (and heaven knows there are plenty of those left to do ) ;)
