I just want to say thanks for all your hard work making the best android client there is!.

Any hope of chromecast integration? Been using google music alot lately because of this feature would rather switch back to dsub/subsonic 100%.

Of course. I want it just as much as you do I promise. I did a lot of the back end work for it already. Right now I'm just waiting for them to push the SDK to be available to compile against before I start plugging in the remaining bits. Right now they are rolling out the new play services and Google has said that they will update the sdk after that is complete. You can still technically use it, but its a pain in the butt to use redirection so I would rather just use the meantime to work on other stuff.

Alright, the SDK has now been updated so development begins in earnest. I already have a super basic cast working, but it will take a while to get all of the finer details worked out.

Came here to ask this very question.

I have to say, this is probably the best 3 dollars or w/e I've ever spent.

I have a beta up now in the play store. Go to viewtopic.php?f=16&t=12764&start=30#p61624 for more information. I'm probably looking at a public release in a week.

Wanted to say thanks for working on this, I was unable to get it working with the beta, left a comment on your g+ post. Going to try to forward a port instead of sub domain and see if it happens to like that.

Well tried using domain with subsonic port and beta still says dsub on the chromecast and either buffering or just that it hasn't started playing yet on the app.

Can you try without https at all and see whether or not it is an issue with the SSL cert. Also is it self signed?

I'll grab a new domain in a bit and test it. It is not self signed but it is the cheap one from name cheap.

OK tested it without https at all, in fact I actually did last night when checking on an alternate port directly to the subsonic server.

Ok so I thought my apache rules were forcing all sub domains to https but it isn't. So far I have tried a sub domain reverse proxies through apache, a port forward directly to the subsonic instance. Both non SSL. I have tried internal and external addresses.

One thing that may be messing it up is I'm using music cabinet not stock subsonic. I will install subsonic on another box in a minute.

Ok installed stock subsonic on a new box, still no go. Chromecast shows dsub, dsub mobile app shows buffering.

Can you make me a username password and pm or email the details so I can see if it is a client thing or something with the server.

Edit: To add to this, let me just say that on my phone it was generating a couple of weird errors before working just fine. I added exceptions for those errors, and then everything worked. I might need to add more for it to work for everyone.

Alright, it was problem with DSub assuming that a transcoded content type is always set. Apparently when doing a mp3 -> mp3 transcode it isn't set, and was silently throwing a error. I have updated to both fix that issue, and to have better error handling (it will at least show a error to the user instead of just showing buffering forever). Plus there were other fixes that I put in that I ran across while using it.

I was so happy to see that you've added Chromecast support to DSub, thank you!!!

I do have a question regarding the implementation. Does it stream to the Chromecast from the android device or the server? I get the impression (because the files download to the device) that it's streaming from the device. If so, do you plan on having it stream directly from the server in the future or is this not possible unless/until it's implemented on server itself? I hope that makes sense. Thanks so much for the great work on this app.
