Lock Screen Player Disappears After Skipping Song

This feature worked fine on my Galaxy S2. However, I just upgraded to a Galaxy S5, and whenever I choose to go to the previous or next song, the player disappears from my lock screen completely. Music is still playing, but I have to unlock my phone and lock it again before I can get the player back on my lockscreen. I primarily use DSub while I'm driving, and I liked being able to just tap the Next button to find a song I wanted with ease without having to take my eyes off the road so much. Is there a way for me to fix this, or is this something that can be addressed in a future update?
