Can't stream via 4G since last dSub update

Postby Mike Marrone » Thu Jun 19, 2014 1:09 am

Following the last dSub update I have been unable to stream via 4G... everything connects and it still works whenever I'm connected to WiFi... but will not stream on 4G. My daughter has the same exact phone and hers works fine. I have checked and rechecked all of my settings (i.e. only play when connected to wi-fi) and have been using this setup for years. Just to make sure I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I also downloaded iSub and had the exact same problem. It appears to me this is a phone issue but I was wondering if anyone could offer some constructive feedback. The phone is a Samsung SGH-1337 running Android 4.4.2

Thanks in advance.

If you are also having trouble with iSub, then it isn't a phone issue since that is a iOS app so would have to be having trouble with two completely different phones. A thousand people have had this issue but everyone seems to just come back and say they fixed it without ever really explaining what was wrong in the first place so I can't help you there :?

Check your port forwarding. Go to http://canyouseeme.org and verify that the Subsonic port is open. 4040 unless you changed the default.

I'm sorry... my bad. It wasn't iSub it was the regular Subsonic Android mobile app... so it is not an iOS app. However, I just DL's Ultrasonic and that was streaming on 4G... I am very confused. And the port forwarding is fine. Simply can't stream on anything other than Wi-Fi with dSub and the Subsonic app.

Did you try the Subsonic demo site?

Are you sure you put in the settings the exact same? Same URL, same port and everything?

Same Probleme here. No Problems in Wifi. But could not stream on 3G.

He is trying to downloa the Music in Cache Folder. There are all files as mp3 but could not be playback with all players (eg. Google Music). I think the files are broken on 3G. Resync on 3G issn't a Problem.

Problem found for me. I have Problems in Transcoding. With unlimited bitrate, I have no problems in 3G.

It has worked perfectly transcoding for years, this all started in the last 3-4 weeks. Is there a fix, other than streaming without transcoding?
