Subsonic allows for the rating of albums with stars in the WebUI but not songs, but Dsub seems to only allow rating individual songs and not albums. This seems like an inconsistency. I keep new music in a separate folder until I decide I like it, and rating albums is pretty helpful for me to remember what I do and don't like. Any chance 5 star ratings for albums could be implemented in a way similar to the songs ratings in Dsub? (Where it shows the rating next to the song)

It does show the rating for albums. It shows in the album art when viewing the artist, in the header when viewing the actual album, and in the details dialog for the album (pin icon next to album -> Details). I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about to be honest.

Ooooh, I didn't realize that, since I only use ratings for new music then delete those ratings once I add them to my library officially.

I think I see what my issue was. I was putting my new music album folders directly in the Listen folder so the folder structure was treating those album folders as artists. It looks like if I nest those album folders under another folder name it should work. Here's the link the imgur album I created before I figured it out http://imgur.com/a/BNQcR.

Ah yes. I will fix it so the rating shows up in the header when it is an album directly in the top level.

I take that back. I now remember why I didn't expose that in the first place: there is no way to look up the rating information about a first-level album through the REST API. Rating information is not exposed in the get album information API. For other albums I am actually looking up the parent artist to get it, but rating information is not exposed for first level directories so there is no way for me look it up to display it. I am asking the web developer to add ratings to the API so that I can expose ratings on a first-level album in the future.
