Track title behavior for multidisc albums

Postby subatomic09 » Fri Nov 20, 2015 2:20 pm

I'm noticing some weird behavior in DSub in multidisc album folders. I have "Browse By Tags" turned off and "Display Track #" turned off too. I'm thinking it has something to do with the way I structure filenames for multidisc albums. I like to keep multiple discs in one folder, so I write the filenames "[disc]-[track] - [title]" like this:

1-06 - The Storm Has Just Begun.mp3

So, in DSub, some of these tracks show up like this:

1-- The Storm Has Just Begun

but the weird thing, it's not all of them, only a handful in each album.

Honestly there are a ton of things which might be affecting this, only some of which would be the app's fault. Do you mind PM'ing me a temp username/password so I can look at the data the server is sending? That way I can A) see what the issue is and B) hopefully fix it.

At least in the example you gave me it had nothing to do with multidisc albums. Basically it is because I do some funny logic to differentiate between duplicate titles within the same album. For most users who have duplicate songs it is because they are different renditions of the same song so I try to use the file name on the server to show which is which. I do need to enhance the logic to treat multi-disc albums as separate albums, but in the case you gave me there are multiple identical songs in the same album (seriously WTF? I looked up the album and they really are just named the same thing).

I am improving the logic to treat songs as the same only if the disc number and track number match which should fix your case in the next release. But you are probably better off just turning this off if you are having a lot of issues with it. It is an option under Settings -> Appearance -> Rename duplicate tracks that you can turn off. The changes will only take effect after you refresh the album.
