Only get "Getting your selection" in Android Auto

  • Huawei P30 Pro, Android 9.
  • Latest version of DSub on phone and on media server.
  • Ford EcoSport (2019)
I can play music just fine from the DSub app on my phone (disconnected from the car) but when I browse using Android Auto (browsing the directories works fine), tapping Play just shows "Getting your selection..." forever.

If I unplug my phone from the car and play music from the DSub app on my phone, it works instantly from that, suggesting it's an issue with the Android Auto implementation.

Any ideas?

yeah i've been seeing that. sometimes happens sometimes doesn't, and i haven't quite figured out the rules.

seems to be when i try to play a folder of folders (eg shuffle everything from an artist's folder) it might do that. yeah the workaround is to start it up in normal mode and then go Auto, if you can, or use your phone to quickly create a playlist and play that from DSub.

in my case, i use auto ON the phone rather than actually in my dash, which i guess gives me alternate workarounds. I also tend to primarily play from playlists anyways. :)

This happens more to me than not, so I'm getting a refund from the Play Store. It's a shame.
