Feature Requests for UltraSonic

Only just discovered UltraSonic - I've been using DSub for a couple of months now but this looks like the Audiogalaxy replacement (with a more similar UI than DSub has) that I always wanted - great work! The ID3 tag browsing is the killer feature for me.

When going to an Artist and then browsing a list of that Artist's albums, could you add quick scrolling ability for the right-hand side scrollbar so that it's possible to quickly jump from one end of the list to another? I have hundreds of live recordings for some artists and this would help browsing those tremendously.

Many thanks! Also, is there any way to reorder songs in the play queue? If there isn't, seeing as long pressing on a song brings up a context menu instead of making it movable like in DSub, maybe have an area of each song in the list (far left?) which could be dragged up or down as necessary with some kind of marker indicating this?

Having had a chance to use the app properly this morning, I have a few more requests I'd like to see:

- an option to automatically clear the play queue once the final song on it has finished playing
- on the Now Playing screens, a larger play/pause button so that it's not the same size as the other buttons. Also, a button to clear the queue in one press (instead of going through Menu -> Remove All) and an indication of number of tracks and total playing time of all tracks in the queue (e.g. 18 tracks / 50:00). Maybe shorten Equalizer and Visualizer to EQ and Vis to give more screen space?

First, I'd like to say this app is great! Thanks for releasing it!

This is a very minor request: can you add that "Go online/offline" cloud button on the main screen that's also in the official client? It's just slightly quicker than having to select my server from that drop down list.

It seems that the currently playing track does snap to top when redrawing the playlist. If one backgrounds the app, or navigates to another activity and returns, the scroll position has changed. So the feature's halfway there?

Would it be possible to add a play speed setting?

I use subsonic mainly for podcasts and audiobooks, and that would make it so much easier on me. Especially as I make sure I cache entire sections before leaving home.

I am not sure what you mean exactly, can you explain in more detail please?

To be able to increase the playback rate. Such as 1.5x or 2x speed. That way I can listen to files/tracks in half the time.

After further research it doesn't look like this is something that is supported in the default media player. I can change the rate from like 44100 to 22050, not sure if that is what you want.

Very, very nice. Works almost exactly as I'd hoped. Only one issue I can see:
1) Begin playback of 10-track playlist
2) Skip to (or tap) the 5th track (5th track now at top, awesome!)
3) Tap Home or flip to another app
4) Return to Ultrasonic
Result: Playlist has snapped to top.

When going Home or flipping to another app, then returning to Ultrasonic, the playlist position was remembered before, IIRC. It's certainly easy enough to return to the current track with a pause/resume tap (or the cool new quick-scroll thumb), but I'm thinking of driving scenarios. The fewer taps the better?

Overall, beautiful work. We bitch about features 'cause we care.

2. When changing servers, turn off Jukebox mode

For my setup, I've got a public subsonic server [Cleveland] that I use for everything except playing music in my room, where my desktop [room] has subsonic installed and is only used in Jukebox mode. So, when I come home at night, I switch from Cleveland -> room, set up something to play, and I have to choose Jukebox. THen in the morning when I leave for work, I switch back to Cleveland, set up something to play, and have to turn off Jukebox mode.

tl;dr, it'd be cool if a server could be defaulted to jukebox mode, and when switching servers, jukebox mode, if on, would turn off.

Archrival, can you please add the multi disc function to UltraSonic. See this thread for more information: http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=11874

There will be an option in 1.1.0.21 that will sort an album by disc and then by track, you'll probably want to have very consistent tags for this to work well. It will be off by default, so check the Sort Songs By Disc option. Let me know if it works for you.

Just stumbled on this app in the market. Looks great! Definitely hope to switch from the default Subsonic app but there's one tiny thing holding me back:

I just got a Pebble smart watch and noticed artist/track/album metadata isn't showing up on the watch. It should look something like this:



This works with the default Subsonic app and most other music apps. Apparently you need to send the metadata via AVRCP. I found the following stackoverflow guidance:

Would love if you could add this! I can test any builds you make. Aaaand I just realized you have this up on GitHub, too, so if you don't get around to it maybe I'll submit a pull request one of these days.
