I just got a Pebble smart watch and noticed artist/track/album metadata isn't showing up on the watch. It should look something like this:

This works with the default Subsonic app and most other music apps. Apparently you need to send the metadata via AVRCP. I found the following stackoverflow guidance:

Would love if you could add this! I can test any builds you make. Aaaand I just realized you have this up on GitHub, too, so if you don't get around to it maybe I'll submit a pull request one of these days. :)

Cheers!

That was working, it must have broken in the last few builds. I will look into fixing it. I just need to find something I can test it with.

I use subsonic mainly for podcasts and audiobooks, and that would make it so much easier on me. Especially as I make sure I cache entire sections before leaving home.

I am not sure what you mean exactly, can you explain in more detail please?

To be able to increase the playback rate. Such as 1.5x or 2x speed. That way I can listen to files/tracks in half the time.

+1 on this feature. It would definitely be awesome when listening to podcasts :)

Odd...it's intermittently working. Let me do some more investigation and I'll see if I can get some reliable repro steps.

Could you please look into integrating MX Player (like the official Subsonic client app did recently)? I really love UltraSonic and do not wish to switch to Subsonic?

Thanks,
Osho

ArchRival's already said that it's not supported by the music player. So may not be possible with the android app, sadly.

However, once it's downloaded/cached, you should be able to a different media player to do that.

There are a number of third party libraries that have support for playback speed adjustments, I may consider adding them at some point, but I cannot guarantee anything.

In the "Now Playing", long press on a song, would it be possible to add "Go to Artist" also?

Settings -> Cache Location is currently is a text box when you have to type an exact location. Could it be a file/directory browser instead to select the location? I agree that this is low priority and only useful when moving the cache to an external sd card but it would make it easier rather then having to type a case sensitive path such as "/storage/extSdCard/ultrasonic".

PS: Awesome app! :)

Go to Artist is on my to do list. I am just debating how I should go about it. It is much easier to accomplish with confidence with ID3 tag browsing. Otherwise the top level folder could be an artist or not depending on your file layout.

I will look into the file browser, I agree it makes more sense.

Is there any possibility of being able to reorder songs in the play queue in future?

I use Ultrasonic in the car, DC powered, almost exclusively. There's almost never a time I want the screen to sleep automatically during playback.

Request for a permanent "Prevent Screen Off" or "Prevent Sleep" (or whatever the general Android terminology is) in Settings. This would work in concert with the "Screen On" toggle during playback.

If the user leaves the new Prevent Sleep switch disabled in Settings (default), the Screen X toggle reads "On." User can tap this toggle as s/he does now to temporarily keep the screen on. Toggle state resets on next app start to echo opposite of Settings switch.

If the user enables Prevent Sleep in Settings, the Screen X toggle reads "Off." User can tap this toggle to temporarily allow the screen to sleep. Toggle state resets on next app start to echo opposite of Settings switch.

I have a simple and effective request for change/modification:

Issue
When scrolling through the currently playing playlist, it is difficult to find the actual currently playing song. The only identifying mark is the play symbol next to the song on the list (which is the same color as the rest of the text). This is very troublesome when you have a rather large playlist playing.

Easy Solution
Have the currently playing song in the list stand out by highlighting the song tile background a different color (say ICS blue or something). This way with a quick thumb flip through the currently playing list, anyone should be able to know where their currently playing song is. The color would stand out in the list and it would be extremely easy to spot even while scrolling quickly.

Does Ultrasonic cache the folder structure of a server? If not, I believe this would greatly increase the ability to quickly browse through the music collection on a server.

Think about it this way....whenever you open a folder in ultrasonic, you see these messages roll by:
1. "Contacting Server....please wait"
2. "Reading from server"

Those messages occur everytime you open a folder....regardless of previous opens...and sometimes have hangups. This behavior is redundant, network dependent, and not optimal in my opinion. The solution would be to have ultrasonic cache the folder structure of a server. This would mean there would only be a one-time contact/read to the server for each folder (unless a change/addition to folder structure obviously).

Maybe Ultrasonic already does this caching behavior....and the above messages are just checking for changes and not asking for redundant data. If so, fantastic....that means Ultrasonic already caches.
