Progressive audio de-sync when watching video

Hi! AVSub is great but one thing I have never been able to get it to do well is have audio and video sync.
Any video will start off well but as time goes on the audio drifts away from the video until its so out of sync you have to go back to main screen and play the video again (skipping ahead to where you left off). This re-syncs the audio but then it starts its drift again.
When I watch the same video via subsonic webUI everything is fine, its only in AVSub that this happens.
Ive controlled for bandwidth (tested on a 300Mbps line and an 11Mbps line), platform (iPad Air and iPad 2 Air), server (Two different subsonic systems) and OS (iOS 9 and 10) and the only constant is AVSub.
Anyone have any ideas of what settings I may have set incorrectly that would cause the drift?
Tx!
