Android app issues

Postby baaldemon » Thu May 27, 2010 3:26 pm

So ive noticed a few issues with the android app and wanted to see if they are known, or widely seen issues.

When downloading files, espescially those greater than 8MB or so the app has issues renaming them. When this happens it sometimes retries to rename the file itself, but sometimes even if there is a full complete file it will redownload the whole file again. Can happen a couple of times or upwards of 20 times. When it keeps doing it more than 10 times I generally kill the application, rename the .complete file manually and then restart subsonic. What causes this issue and how can I resolve it.

When clearing cached files subsonic always then refetches and caches the last album I downloaded. Why does it do this and is there a fix.

When deleting downloaded songs from my phone through the app, it will then fetch and cache those files after I run the delete, Can this be stopped?

Where is the file located on the phone that tells subsonic what files to retrieve? I would like to be able to modify that file so I can clear out what is in the pipeline when I run into the issues above.

OK, this might be a stupid question, but... do you clear your playlist before clearing your cache? If things are still in the playlist, I'm sure they will start downloading again (since there's no way to turn off downloading).

As far as the large file renaming issue, I've never noticed that, nor read about anyone else who has (but I haven't read much here, so that doesn't really mean anything).

I'm noticing the same thing. Whenever I even browse an album, it begins caching it on the SD card. Then whenever it gets interrupted in some way (like mounting the card on my computer), it keeps failing forever. I can't ever clear the error message in the window shade about how it can't find the file. "Delete cache" doesn't seem to do anything.

I've tried killing the process in AndroZip, then deleting the cache manually, but it always seems to come right back. I've also tried deleting everything from the playlist, and even deleting the player (using the admin console page), and the files *still* keep coming back.
