Java Error on Settings Page

Postby loch » Tue Jun 08, 2010 7:28 pm

First off, terrific program Sindre.

Subsonic has been working fine, even with the upgrade to 4.0.1. However I just lost my Settings Page. All I get is Java Error: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError

The first few lines are:
Code: Select all
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.taglibs.standard.tag.rt.core.ForTokensTag.setItems(Ljava/lang/Object;)V
at org.apache.jsp.WEB_002dINF.jsp.settingsHeader_jsp._jspx_meth_c_forTokens_0(org.apache.jsp.WEB_002dINF.jsp.settingsHeader_jsp:195)
at org.apache.jsp.WEB_002dINF.jsp.settingsHeader_jsp._jspService(org.apache.jsp.WEB_002dINF.jsp.settingsHeader_jsp:106)
at org.apache.jasper.runtime.HttpJspBase.service(HttpJspBase.java:109) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:820)
at org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper.service(JspServletWrapper.java:389)
at org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.serviceJspFile(JspServlet.java:486) at org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:380)
at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:820)

I am running the latest java version (v20) and playing music all works but I can't change any of the settings.

Thanks for any ideas. I can post the whole trace if needed.

Any ideas from anyone? Googling the errors seems to imply some kind of classpath error. I tried even a fresh install and I get the same error. Wondering if it is a Subsonic issue or a Java issue. I hate to blast away the rest of my Jetty setup which seems to be working fine.

Thanks

Well I believe I solved my problem.

Stop jetty
Deleted \webapps\subsonic
restart jetty and got java.lang.JasperException Error

after googling this I found another program who had a solution to this which is to delete the standard-XXX.jar in the \subsonic\webapp\WEB-INF\lib directory ( I just renamed but same difference).

Restarted Jetty and so far everything is back to normal and seems to be working. Hope this helps some of you. I guess I can finally donate some cash now.
