Android App does not see/does not show music files

I managed to setup the server on my linux box (Ubuntu 8.04 Server Edition) and can access my music through the web interface (manually forwarded through port 4040).

My Evo is running the Android App and I have connected it without any issue, but like these folks I can only see music that is in playlists or I search for...nothing in artists, nothing in albums. Subair acts the same way: searching for a file or accessing a playlist is golden but I cannot just browse all my files.

My collection is not even particularly large (~5000 songs) so I wondered at first if it were a permissions issue but nothing obvious stands out to me. Especially since the playlists, search, and actually playing files all works. I'm liking what does work, I'm just wondering if someone knows a solution to this before I either call it quits or donate?

Anyone? Naturally, a solution would be much appreciated!
