Android App - Artist Aggregation not working properly.

I have multiple songs in various hard drives, which are all being pointed to by Subsonic... the web browser on the server has properly read the tags and aggregated the albums by artist, under a single heading per artist.

The Android app however seems to look at each folder as a separate instance, and thus I get multiple 'artist' folders depending on the source location. It's as if it's not looking at the tags, but instead at the folder structure.

Is this by design, or a bug/flaw in the Android mechanism?
