Transcoding Error

Postby glberen » Tue Jul 06, 2010 6:02 pm

Hello,

I was having stuttering issues with iSub on the iPhone, so I capped the stream at 64K for that player, but iSub still reports receiving a 160K stream.

This error is in the logs:

DEBUG InputStreamReaderThread (c:\subsonic\transcode\lame) Error writing mp3 output

What is the output directory that it's writing to? I'm assuming it's a permissions problem or something, but I don't know.

Ideas?

I've been getting this error for weeks. Many other threads on "error writing mp3 output" are never resolved. Few responses, if any, on those threads.

Some sort of combination of uninstall/reinstall on the Windows 7 machine I'm using as well as uninstall/reinstall on the android phone fix the issues temporarily. Perhaps for 24 hours or so? Then I start getting these errors again.

I assume also that it has to do with permissions. Someone else mentioned it may be happening when two or more people stream at the same time. That's not my issue. It seems really random.

It's particularly frustrating since I commute a lot, so I'm out of town for 4 to 5 days at a time. If the server stops working the first day I'm out, I'm screwed the rest of the week.

HomePipe and Audiogalaxy are terrible. Subsonic is exactly what I want, but it doesn't seem to be working. I've happily donated, and would again if I could be assured I'd never run into this situation again.

Any help would be appreciated.
