streaming movies

Postby Jasper » Mon Jun 25, 2007 5:40 pm

I'm trying to stream .mpg files, however whenever I put them on the playlist it just says "connecting". I have successfully streamed mp3s, and I added .mpg to the mask so they show up, is there another step I need to perform to get this to work?

I had this issue in Media player

Install VLC and let it handle the .m3u files Subsonic creates.

VLC plays almost every Video format know to man, without the need of any special codecs. Try it

I tried to stream a fairly small divx video and winamp would not start the stream. Anyone had any luck with this?

I am trying to set up a media server for a bunch of the guys here in Baghdad and one of the requests was streaming movies. I am looking at about 300-400 movies and 200-300 episodes of anime/tv shows.

Will I have to require that they use something besides media player?

VLC is your best bet.
