Chaging from the Installer version to the WAR version

Postby dvdme » Thu Jan 27, 2011 3:40 am

Hi, I've been running SS for one week and I am very pleased with it.
Anyway, I started to install the Windows Installer version but it happens that I have also another server running Apache, mySQL and Tomcat.
I already tried the WAR version under Tomcat 6.0 and it seamed to work fine.

My question is, can I uninstall the installer version and change to the WAR version without loosing any settings that I have already configured?
Also, is there any reason to believe that Subsonic may run slower or not that good under another server?

you should be able to migrate i assume, i did something similar recently. the installer version puts things inside of c:\subsonic. if the war version has that home directory somewhere just copy everything that is in your c:\subsonic folder and put it in the folder that the war version uses. I moved from the windows installer version to the standalone version and did the same process and all of my settings are there.

Thanks for replying.
One thing I noticed when i tried the war version was that it had the same settings without me moving anything so I assumed that both versions shared the same settings folder.
Now with your reply, I supposed I can unistall the installer and keep the settings anyway.
