Question about a web player

Postby Jabberwock » Wed Feb 09, 2011 10:25 am

Does the webplayer use Flash 10? If so, is it possible to use a lower version player?

I am trying to stream music to my Archos 5 IMT (non-Android) and control it via Web from another computer. Subsonic seemed like a solution, unfortunately, even though I see the Subsonic page on the device and can add songs to a playlist, sound is not produced at all.

Could it be due to the fact that Archos has not upgraded to Flash 10? Is there any workaround for this?

Is JW Player what is used in Subsonic page? With Flash 9 Archos should work... I am not sure why it doesn't :(

Unfortunately, it seems Archos 5 is running a limited-feature version - Flash 9 Lite. I've read it is incompatible with JW Player...

Oh, too bad - I had high hopes for this setup...

Maybe another avenue has opened: Archos 5 can be hacked to install Angstrom. This distribution is also quite limited - Flash does not work either in the browser, but at least there is more room for experiments...
