How does that help?

Postby griffey » Thu Feb 10, 2011 3:37 am

Sorry, maybe I'm dense, but I don't see how anything on that linked page answers the question. I don't see any of those settings dealing with aiff files.

What am I missing?

Tried and failed

So...I'm assuming that the contents of the link above are transcoding instructions, and I've told Subsonic to treat aiff files as music, and entered a new transcoding instruction that looks like this:

aiff > mp3
aiff
mp3
ffmpeg -v 0 -i %s -f mp3 -acodec libmp3lame -ar 44100 -aq 0 -ac 2 -map_meta_data 0:0 -

that's it...and I get nothing. The files are now seen as music, but they don't play using the Flash player at least.

What am I doing wrong? A bit more description on the help, please?

Yes about transcoding row. Scroll right in transcoding page and see if default and enabled is a checked. Also check if this extension aded in General. Check also player settings... Upgrade FFmpeg... See log for errors.

PP: ... or use two step

ffmpeg -i %s -f wav -
lame ...

but above single step is a better: http://ffmpeg.arrozcru.org/autobuilds/

Woot!

Postby griffey » Fri Feb 11, 2011 3:35 am

That did it...I was missing turning on the encoder on the player. Had no idea that setting was even there.

Thank you! Works perfectly now.
