Question about Trial Period

Postby Accidental » Sat Jan 15, 2011 4:16 pm

Hello,

I'm new to Subsonic and the forum. About a year ago I installed Subsonic 3.9 but never had the chance to configure it on my PC. Now that I'm ready to go (esp with my new Android phone w/ Subsonic), I installed 4.3 and have it fully configured with my library. When I connect via my Android phone to my PC (after numerous tikerings with my firewall) it says the trial is expired. I'm assuming this is from the 3.9 I installed.

I'm aware this is expected behavior for trial installs, but is there a way to extend the trial - even if it's just for a couple of days - so I can see how this works with my phone? If it works as described I have no problem donating for the unlocked product. I would try another PC if I had one =)

Thanks!

-Jeff

I don't know of any way to extend the trial, but you are welcome to test your phone on the Subsonic Demo site.

You can also test video on my public site:

It works as advertised if it's set up properly. :D

Thanks - I will try out your site. Video was an area I wanted to test thoroughly.

Though, I really want to play around with different video formats and bitrates from my PC.. and try different transcoders.

I wanted to bump this to see if there is a solution. I'd like to fiddle around with transcoding options on my own PC before my donation.

If I can get the video streaming just right I'd love to donate.

Not to sound too cynical, but do you really think donating $15 is unreasonable for the functionality you already have? Skip Starbucks a couple times and you'll be even. Then you can tinker to your hearts content.

No cynicalism taken =) I'm in school in TN and have a tight budget for everything. I actually don't use Subsonic at the moment.. I was only interested in video streaming to my Android phone. I wish I had some way to test out the transcoding but I don't have access to another computer. (The public ones are obviously NOT a good option)

Feel free to test your phone on my public server. That's what it's for. If there's something specific you want to test, let me know and I'll try to accomodate your needs on one of my private servers.
