Failed to create Lucene search index.

I've been having some strange search engine problems, some albums appearing, some not. After running a manual search, I see this in the log:

Could that be it? Everything else seems to be working perfectly, except for this strange search error. Seems like newer albums aren't added to the search properly...

We see this kind of post frequently, but I don't know as there is any one particular cause that's been identified. The best suggestion would be to uninstall SS and Java, reboot the server then do a reinstall of the latest versions of Java and SS. Many times users report that it just clears up on it's own. I've installed SS on many servers and as yet have never encountered the problem. It's most likely related to an installation error.

The log gave an error about a permission problem with creating a lock file in susonic/lucene/song/

I checked the perms and the user that subsonic runs as can create/delete files just fine.

When I did the search, I was actually streaming something. I stopped that, logged out all users, and ran the search manually as Admin, and everything seemed to update fine. No idea what the permission problem could have been, but for now it seems to work just fine.
