Postby Greyhound » Sun Mar 27, 2011 12:09 pm

Hello!

I have in the Log-File warning like

WARN JaudiotaggerParser Error when parsing tags in G:\Musik\Sampler\D\Die Hit-Giganten (Dancefloor Hits)\01_-_01_-_David Guetta feat. Kid Cudi_-_Memories.mp3

I think the path is to long! Is this possible?

In my music libary ar more than 165.000 songs!

Have anyybody the same problems?

I'd stay away from () characters as they may be interpereted differently by different OS's. Also never exceed 255 characters for the full path/filename. Keeping directory structures and file names simple is the best way to avoid problems. e.g. X:\Music\Artist\Album\Tracks

My music collection is impossibly large to have everything just under /mp3/Artist/Album

My collection is broken into /mp3/Artist/x/name/album

Where x is the initial letter, name is the artists name for example

/mp3/Artists/P/Pink Floyd/The Wall

That way I have /mp3/Artists /mp3/Collections /mp3/Classic all showing up on the left bar and makes it incredibly easy to navigate, however it also shows lost+found which means subsonic needs an option to forbid listing of certain directories.

I did put this suggestion down however there has been no comment from the author or anyone else, which makes me wonder if suggestions are actually read any more. This looks like a great project and hope it's not dead already. It has too much potential.
