(Thanks for all your help, BTW! I can't thank you enough!)

Yes, for the 'away' server entry. At home, simply use your static IP server address with port (ie. 192.168.0.2:8080).

You're welcome! (was it the easy or hard fix, btw?)

Follow up question:

Assuming I don't want a "yourname.subsonic.org" address and I just want to listen to my music on my Android phone and at work using the browser, how do I configure that?
I'm running an HP Mediacenter m7060N computer with Windows XP Service Pack 3. Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.100216-1514: Service Pack 3)

Licensing your server gives you both the .org address AND Android App access. If you can live without Android App access, you can use a dynamic dns service to 'burrow your way home'. :)

Aah...

So much for the "Free" Subsonic, LOL.

$27 Canadian, BTW.

SS server is free, not the apps/API access (usually third-party devs). Money well spent for your tunage available ubiquitously. :)

Yes. Just go to Settings/Network, got to the area just above the "Save" button, check the box " Access your server over the Internet using an easy-to-remember address."

http://servername.subsonic.org - fill in the name you want to use, hit the save button.

If it reports "Status: Successfully registered web address." then you're good to go. Just enter the same url in the Android app.
