Android Streaming Video Issue

Postby mstinson23 » Mon Jun 27, 2011 6:54 pm

Hello,

Everytime I try to stream video to my HTC Thunderbolt the screen crashes. If I try to use the app it start to load up the video, then as soon as you see the screen it drops back to the main app screen. If I try to log directly to it using both the stock browser as well as the Dolphin browser the browser crashes as soon as I hit play on a video.

The videos DO work if I browse to them via a desktop/laptop (from work to home).

Music streams just fine as well. I am running a rooted Thunderbolt with Das Bamf remix 1.8 so I am wondering if this could be an issue?

Version 4.4 (build 2172) – February 6, 2011
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_24, Windows 7 (51.1 MB / 91.8 MB)

I am getting the following as well although I am not sure it is related to the Android as it appears at random moments that don't seem to cooincide with my Android attempts.

[6/27/11 11:48:24 AM MST] DEBUG InputStreamReaderThread (c:\subsonic\transcode\ffmpeg) [aac @ 033bcc40]SBR not implemented. Update your FFmpeg version to the newest one from SVN. If the problem still occurs, it means that your file has a feature which has not been implemented.

I'm guessing your using 5.1 aac audio,

Run the following. It should provide you with a couple of lines about your video & audio streams.
Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i <source_file>

I actually have lots of different videos with different encoding for both video and audio and none of them work over the phone...they all work over a regular web browser.

Is there an issue with 5.1 aac audio?

5.1 audio tracks have to be downmixed to stereo before they can be encoded in mp3 format to work with JWPlayer.

However, this is a different issue. I don't believe it should result in you being kicked back to the app when viewing video. Have you tried accessing it from another phone? Are you sure your active transcoding profiles are consistent among players?

As far as I can tell all of my players are configured the same. I will try to see if someone else will let me try on their phone today.

Ok...its my phone. I tried it on a coworkers phone and it worked fine over dolphin browser.

AND...as I write this I realize I am suffering from both PEBCAK and an ID10T error. I forgot to reinstall flash after putting on the new ROM.

Problem solved :) AWESOME product so far!
