[Android] Is there a way to move the music download folder?

Postby toekneebullard » Thu May 19, 2011 8:54 pm

Is there a way to change the download directory on the Android app? My phone has an internal and external SD card, and I'd like the music to be placed on the External card. Is this possible? If not, this would be a very handy feature. It means the difference of me being able to store 1GB of music and 32GBs of music.

Bump - I would love to know this too. My Droid Incredible has internal storage that really doesn't get used for anything else at this point.

Hello,
I also have the same problem with my new Samsung Galaxy S2:
It has 16GB of internal memory which is in fact seen an "internal" SD card. I have bought a 32Gb card wich is seen an "external" card.

The Galaxy S2 points to both cards in this way :

/sdcard : thats the internal 16 Gb memory
/sdcard/external_sd : thats the external 32 GB memory

By default subsonic puts the downloaded music in :

/sdcard/subsonic/music -> so thats the internal memory which leaves the external card unused.

It would be nice to be able to chose the download path for the music in the android application parameters. Or at least to be able to chose /sdcard/external_sd as root directory.

Hope you can take this into account in your next Android release, there will be many Samsung Galaxy S2 out there soon !

Cheers.

This feature has been implemented and will be included in the next release :-)

Hi,
That's exactly the answer I wanted to get.... thanks a lot.

I have been using Subsonic for a few days and got the licence right away.
The Subsonic server + android client combination is truely awesome.

Looking forword to the next release, keep-up the good work.

Got the new Android client from the Android Market.
That's perfect, I can now use the external SD card on my galaxy S2

Thanks a lot.
