Bug: Period in playlist name

Postby cypherljk » Wed Aug 03, 2011 8:35 pm

I am running Subsonic on WHS v1 (all service packs, 4 Gig RAM). The browser can be any (FF, I.E., Chrome etc).

If you save a playlist name with a period in it the name is truncated to the string portion before the period
ex: 'R. Kelly All Hits' is truncated to 'R'
ex: 'R.E.M. The Hits' is truncated to 'R'

Version: 4.4 (build 2172)
Server: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_16, Windows 2003 (42.8 MB / 63.9 MB)

Not sure where to post this so I am dropping it here.

This may not be a bug but an undocumented feature :D
It looks as if it uses the mac convention of using the period as a hidden attribute.
e.g. I just created a playlist with the name ".test" and ended up with a playlist with no name :?
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

Actually it's a bug. I contacted sindre and he will have it fixed in the next version.
