Migrating from WAR version to Debian install

My old subsonic server is the WAR version running with Tomcat 5.5. I configured a new server running Debian with the Subsonic Debian-provided install.

How do I transfer my users/license/configuration to the new server?

I tried just copying var/subsonic to /var/subsonic on the new server, but because Debian looks like it uses Jetty, there are problems. Any ideas would be welcome!
