Messed up Library

Postby bluetooth » Sun Oct 12, 2008 1:20 pm

I've messed up my library. This is not a subsonic, but quickly: I moved the library to my nas drive, but quickly realized this will not be feasible until I install a gb adapter in the subsonic PC.

I moved back to the local library location, and now things just don't want to update correctly.

Question: Which files can I delete so the library is recreated from scratch?

Thanks!

Doing some more troubleshooting, it looks like albums with existing ratings don't appear in the highest rated category. Removing and re-rating albums doesn't seem to have any effect.

However, interesting the stars do appear when the album is displayed. So somehow this connection has been corrupted.

Any suggestions how I might rebuild the ratings, or which files to remove so Subsonic can start again?

Did you place the files in the same directory as before? If so, you should try to do "Settings > Search > Update search index now" and see if that helps.

The music went from:
e:\music
to
z:\music
now back to
e:\music

I guess I could blow away the entire subsonic directory, but I'd rather just remove the db that has the ratings. Or maybe this isn't possible?

Did you try to update the search index? This process also takes care of missing/reapparing files.

For instance, if a rated album is moved from e: to z: it will be logically deleted from the database. If it later reappears (is moved back to e: ) if will be logically undeleted.

Anyway, to reset the database you can delete the c:/subsonic/db directory.

Cheers,

Yes, I tried rebuilding the index with no success.

I decided to blow away the db directory, and it is working again. All the ratings, configured podcasts, internet radio and comments are gone but it's working.
