"HTTP ERROR: 503" - Dear God I Need Help

I hadn't used Subsonic in a number of months, but today I decided to get back into it. Unfortunately, I've discovered that I cannot access my subsonic url and it just leads me to a page that reads "HTTP ERROR: 503 SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE RequestURI=/ Powered by jetty://". I have no idea why this is happening, nor do I have any idea how to fix it.

After browsing the help forums here, I tried changing my port to 8080, but that didn't fix it. Then I checked canyouseeme.org and discovered that my isp isn't blocking port 80, so I don't think that's even the issue. I upgraded to subsonic 4.5, but that didn't fix things either. I'm currently running windows 7, if that helps.

I'm really hoping someone can shed some light on this, because I'm baffled. Sadly I'm not the most tech savvy guy on the planet. I'm actually amazed I got subsonic up and running the first time. Even figuring out how to become a paying member seemed confusing to me, but I did manage to do it. Now however- I'm totally lost. If anyone can help me get up and running again, I would really, really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any info anyone may have.

When you say you cannot access SS is that from the server or another pc on network?
So what port is SS running on now?
Any clues in the SS log?
Does the control panel show SS is running and is available on that port?

Well on the advice of someone in another help thread I did a clean install of subsonic. Sadly, it did not fix the problem and I still get the same error when trying to access the online control panel or localhost or whatever it's called.

To clarify: I am trying access the online control panel for SS, on the actual computer that the SS software is installed on. I only use this one computer, plus my phone, to access music on the go. I have no other PCs on my network, just the one that runs the SS software.

Currently the control panel shows that SS is running, on port 80. It doesn't actually say whether it's available or not, but a check with canyousee me tells me that my isp is not blocking that port. And in any case, changing my port to 8080 (the only other port suggestion I've seen on these forums) does not resolve the problem either.

As for the subsonic logs: being a layman (and very much so) I have absolutely no idea how to translate the SS log. I could barely even figure out how to access the log, let alone translate it. It tells me nothing, except that there are a lot of numbers and words I don't understand, etc. Also, which log am I supposed to be looking at? The subsonic-agent log? Or the subsonic-service log? Or both? I really have NO idea. Regardless, I'm gonna post both at the bottom of this reply, in the hope that someone smarter than me can spot something that I cannot.

And that's where I am right now. I'm not sure if I've made my situation any more clear but hopefully this info helps. I am pretty much totally clueless as to how to fix this problem and any info anyone can send my way would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

One vital bit of info missing is what are you trying to install SS on?
I presume it windows ??
Take a read of http://monroeworld.com/android/subsonic/ this will answer many of your questions and definitely change the port from 80.
Your ISP wont block it until you start using it which you haven't managed to do yet

I'm currently running Windows 7, 64 bit. I thought I mentioned that in my original post, but maybe I left it out. Sorry about that.

Thing is, I was using port 80, months ago, when Subsonic was actually working for me. I used it for months with no issue, so why would my ISP suddenly start blocking that port? It's very odd. I honestly can't figure out WHY subsonic stopped working, because it ran fine for months. I'd kind of eased off on my use, but when they released that update for the iphone app a couple months ago, I decided to jump back in and that's when I noticed that I could no longer log into the web interface. It's very curious. I made no changes, no upgrades, nothing. It just stopped working.

In any case, thanks for that link, I'm gonna check it out now. Hopefully it'll shed some light.

Okay, I checked out that link, but unfortunately, it doesn't help. The info on the page really only helps if your set up is working perfectly, which mine is not. Since I cannot access the online control panel, most of the info on that page is fairly useless to me. Sadly.

There are two similar threads going on here in Help so I am getting a bit confuzzled me-self
I would still change the port as an update to IIS on your machine may block port 80 (Its mine and I AM NOT SHARING )
The other thing to check is your firewall. make sure SS is still allowed through. If you change the port to say 8080 then you can allow the port through the firewall.
