problems with transcoding

Postby david12 » Sat Oct 01, 2011 5:39 pm

Hello:

I've just begun to use subsonic and I've tried to use it to stream local files (on my desktop computer running ubuntu 10.4 LTS) to roku.

I'm using subsonic lite on roku, because, frankly, I didn't want to pay for the program until I was sure that it worked. I've had difficultly. Here are the issues:

1. MP3s seem to stream correctly, but much of my collection is flac and that doesn't seem to work at all on roku. I believe the problem is with transcoding. I attach the log. I cannot play the flac files on the subsonic pc interface either, that is localhost:4040.

2. I cannot get ogv video files to play on Roku, although they will play in the subsonic PC interface, localhost:4040.

I don't know what codecs are in play here but I should mention that I am using fluendo codecs (http://www.fluendo.com/) and not the 'normal' ones that are part of the package 'ubuntu-restricted-extras'.

Thanks for your help.

Using: 4.5 (build 2384) – August 10, 2011 and jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_20, Linux (31.6 MB / 49.8 MB)
